If White plays 1. c1-c5 (as shown above), Black would reply with 1. … a1-e5, forcing White to capture the row on the a4-h1 line. As a result of that, he lined up 3 of his pieces and attacks White’s last GIPF. Whatever White plays, Black will always be able to occupy b5 with his next move and capture Gf4.
