1. i3-g3

1. i3-g3 is the only way out. An expensive solution, indeed, but at least White is sure to save one of his GIPF-pieces. In case Black would play 1. … c7-c5;xGg4, White can force him to remove pieces on the c1-i3 line through 2. f1-d2. But Black will most likely choose for the other option, i.e. 1. … h1-d4;xGe7, because that obliges White to play 2. … g1-g5 to push the GIPF on g4 out of danger. Apart from two pieces, that also costs him a move.
