GIPFER beats ZÈRTZERS!
The first ZÈRTZ-tournament that was played
with 11 extra rings. There was a bit apprehension... Wasn't the
larger board going to make the game unnecessary longer? Wasn't it
going to lead to filling up the board until there was no more safe
spot? In Short, wasn't it going to take away the trill of long sequences
of sacrifices and forced moves? No, it didn't. Kurt Van den Branden
- who considers himself a Gipfer, not a Zèrtzer - knew best
how to deal with the extra rings and was the only player who remained
unbeaten. Jeroen Weyn and Christof - in the first place Zèrtzers,
not Gipfers - became second with 4 wins each.
